Diamond, platinum solitaire ring

This ring has a recycled lovely ‘mine cut’ diamond, meaning it was taken from an old worn out Georgian (1714-1837) ring and has been reset in a new platinum rub-over setting.
The stone, not being completely symmetrical, means there is some space at one point around the setting. We went for a rub over setting as this is very easy and safe to wear every day, ideal for a busy person’s engagement ring. The shank is hallmarked platinum and made by Hockley Mint in Birmingham.
Diamond approx .50pts (half a carat) and is eye clean with a nice colour. These old mine cut diamonds have unique refraction qualities not seen in newer brilliant cut diamonds.
Current ring size UK ‘O’, this could easily be altered. Platinum is very resilient to wear and unlike white gold will not need re-rhodium plating each year.
